Intensive Russian Attacks Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water systems, as stated by city officials.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles targeted energy facilities, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks succeed periods of air raids in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and officials were preparing for further attacks.
