19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev secured his first title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a difficult year, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time coach Cervara.
Now training with his coach and Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's initial title after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt from March of the previous year.
Victory also indicates the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 distinct competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his last six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.
His defensive play style and recurring emotional displays on court had caused some to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was over.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and play aggressively, supported by an improved service.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet saved four early-game chances in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, he secured victory with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
